FITUR 2006 Launched Seventh Edition of the Jorge Vila Fradera Forum Award
The International Tourism Trade Fair, FITUR 2006, organized by IFEMA, staged the seventh edition of the FITUR-Jorge Vila Fradera Forum Award, which has established itself as an major form of recognition over the years, thanks to the high quality of the works that are entered.
This forum has become a key reference-point for the tourist industry in terms of the in-depth analysis it provides regarding the current state of tourism. On this occasion, a total of 9 projects were entered.
The Forum aims to promote and disseminate the best pieces of unpublished academic tourism research relating to the Spanish and Latin American industries.
The Academic Selection Committee, which is entrusted with evaluating the works that are entered for the awards and with reaching a decision regarding the winning piece, was this time around made up of members of the Spanish Association of Tourism Experts, AECIT, the Forum´s sponsors and Mrs. Ana Larranaga, Head of FITUR.
Thanks to the agreement that has been reached between the publishing company, Centro de Estudios Ramon Areces, (El Corte Ingles Group), the winning work will be published and widely distributed both within the academic field and within the field of education, including the area of business training.
The publishing company will also market, distribute and sell the selected work throughout the world, focusing in particular on Spain, the countries of the European Union and those of Latin America.
The Forum was once again supported by the Spanish State Department for Trade and Tourism, which acknowledged the considerable prestige the award enjoys within the tourist trade. The awards ceremony will be staged at IFEMA´s fairgrounds in June.
