FITUR to Hold 11th Edition of the Tribuna Jorge Vila Fradera Award

Another year on, FITUR, in collaboration with the Spanish Association of Scientific Experts on Tourism (AECIT), has announced the Tribuna Jorge Vila Fradera Award. The award gives recognition to and encourages the best unpublished works on tourism carried out in the academic fields in both Spain and Latin America. The extraordinary quality of the studies presented in the ten previous editions has consolidated the prestige of this recognition, converting it into a sector reference point.
A technical committee comprising AECIT members and FITUR representatives will carry out the selection of work analyzing variables such as the methodology used, the level of innovation and structure in the proposals.
Once selected, the winning research will be released by the Centro de Estudios Ramon Areces publication, providing the study with a wide audience in both Spanish and Latin American academic circles.
In the 2009 edition of FITUR, the award was for the study critical external factors for hotels investing in innovation and technology in emerging urban destinations. The case for Madrid was by Cristina Figueroa Domecq, Antonia Saez Cala and Juan Ignacio Pulido Fernandez.
