FITUR to Host Luxury Shopping Tourism Roundtable

The meeting, organized by The Chic Outlet Shopping® Villages will take place on Thursday 19 January at 4pm.

The International Tourism Fair, to be staged from 18 to 22 January 2012, will host a luxury shopping tourism roundtable that aims to analyze this segment. The meeting, organized by The Chic Outlet Shopping® Villages, will take place on Thursday 19 January at 4pm at IFEMA, at Sala de Conferencias N102.

In this initiative, representatives of industry sectors including luxury retail, tourism and the media will discuss the Shopping Tourism trend and how it impacts on luxury travel and retail. A core area of debate will be how luxury fashion brands are evolving their role in the tourism industry.

Value Retail is a company specialized exclusively in the development and operation of luxury outlet shopping Villages. The Collection of nine Chic Outlet Shopping® Villages serve Europe’s gateway cities with a unique combination of nine strategic locations – Bicester Village located near London, Kildare Village located near Dublin, La Vallée Village located near Paris, Las Rozas Village located near Madrid, La Roca Village located near Barcelona, Fidenza Village located near Milan/Bologna, Maasmechelen Village located near Brussels/Antwerp/Cologne, Wertheim Village located near Frankfurt and Ingolstadt Village located near Munich. The Villages are must-see destinations; guests take a day trip or include a visit during a weekend exploring the rich cultural region they are surrounded by, enabling them to combine luxury shopping, cultural, spa and gastronomic experiences.

In 2010 the Villages attracted more than 26 million visitors, up by more than 10% on the previous year, and a significant portion, up to 65%, of our visitors are tourists originating from outside the EU, other EU countries, and from outside the regional catchment area.
