France’s International Travel Market Top Resa Kicks Off in Paris

The 37th Edition of the International French Travel Market Top Resa opens today in Paris, with representatives of the area from around 160 countries.

The exhibition park of the Porte de Versailles hosts the event, which takes place until October 2, and brings together the main partners in the French market in the area of tourism, and representatives of travel agents, tour operators and airlines of different destinations.

The appointment has been able to anticipate and adapt to market changes (business, leisure, tourism group) with the aim of bringing together all actors, told to the press Thomas Desplanques, one of the directors.

The program includes panel discussions, workshops and lectures on one of the economic sectors with the stronger growth in the world, he said.

According to figures from the World Tourism Organization (WTO), in 2014, one billion 138 million international passenger arrivals were recorded, which represents an increase of 4.7 percent compared to the previous year.

The American continent recorded a seven percent increase in tourist arrivals, while Europe was consolidated as the most visited region in the world.

For the current year, the WTO expects the sector to grow in a range of three to four percent as the economic situation improves, although it admitted that there are still many difficulties in the way.

Cuba participates in this event with a delegation, including the Ministry of Tourism and the Embassy of the island in France, the International Group of Tour Operators and Havanatur, several hotel chains and other agencies.

France is one of the main emitters of travelers to Cuba. By the end of July 2015, it reported an accumulated increase of 30.1 percent over the previous year.
