Hotels Presented Family-Orientated Products at FITUR

Family-based tourism constitutes the most important tourist segment in Spain, accounting for more than 60 percent of overall tourism in the summer and 40 percent at Easter, according to the Spanish Hotel and Tourist Accommodation Confederation (CEHAT).
Spain is an ideal destination at which to spend a family holiday. Turespaña has pointed out that children are granted priority attention in both Spanish cities and in small rural towns.
The wide range of entertaining activities available also helps to make holidays more interesting, including visits to zoos, aquariums, theme parks and fun parks, not to mention dynamic, fun and interactive museums such as the Guggenheim in Bilbao, the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, and the Science Park in Granada. Another dimension of Spain's appeal for families consists of its almost endless coasts, replete with clean and high-quality beaches endowed with excellent facilities.
To this we must add the country's inland areas, packed as they are with lakes, lagoons, mountain ranges and sierras, rivers, valleys and high plains. These provide the ideal setting for activities such as trekking, skiing, sailing, fishing, cycling and horse-riding, all within a fun and controlled adventure environment.
Special mention should be made of the country's nature parks and national parks, including Doñana, Garajonay and Ordesa y Monte Perdido, all of which present their own visitor and interpretation centers to facilitate learning and education.
Being well aware of the importance of family tourism, a large number of hotels that took part at FITUR 2014 highlighted their family-based products at the show.
