ICTE Director Stands for Tourism Quality in Termatalia Argentina
Fernando Fraile explains quality criteria for thermal spring resorts, thalassotherapy or spa during his keynote speech at the 14th Health and Welfare Tourism International Fair.
"Quality is a key element to each and every tourism service, but specially to the spa sector, since we’re talking about health", these were the first words of Fernando Fraile, director of the Institute for Spanish Tourism Quality (ICTE is the Spanish acronym) during his speech at Termatalia Health and Welfare Tourism International Fair, which is presently being held at the Argentinean city Termas de Río Hondo.
Along with its informative booth, ICTE has an active presence in the sessions as the international leader in terms of the institutionalization of tourism quality. With 37 certified spas as a sample of the popularity of the standards in the sector, the Institute is leading the creation of three international norms of ISO TC 228 for thalassotherapy, health resorts and wellness spas.
Termatalia Argentina is framed within an inter-institutional agreement between Expourense and the main tourism agents in Argentina: the Ministry of Tourism, Provincial Government of Santiago del Estero, Gastronomic Hotel Business Federation of the Republic of Argentina (FEHGRA is the Spanish acronym), Argentinean Tourism Board and the City Council of Termas de Río Hondo.
With the participation of 25 countries, this fair is going to foster the exchange of experiences among different continents, from an entrepreneurial, institutional and social approach, in an effort to obtain a global perspective of the sector.
In parallel with Termatalia, the International Conference on Water and Hydrotherapy is carrying out its ninth edition.
The sector is being tackled by a series of forums and technical sessions from a multidisciplinary perspective (tourist, medical, environmental, legal, economical, etc.) that will gather experts from different countries, which will undoubtedly shed light on the experiences and projects that are being developed in Europe, Latin America or Asia.
The 2014 event teed off on October 1 (the session before the show at Gral. San Martín Cultural Center in Termas de Río Hondo) and continued on the 2nd and 3rd at Termas de Río Hondo’s Circuit, a complementary space of the fair.
