Interjet Launches Second Daily Flight from JFK to Mexico City
Interjet continues to expand its reach into the U.S. with a second daily flight from New York JFK to Mexico City, effective March 12. From JFK, travelers can now choose between flights departing at 12:50 a.m. and 7:10 a.m. From Mexico City, flights will depart at 3:50 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.
The flights will enable convenient connections to Interjet’s service to a wide array of destinations within Mexico, including such tourism destinations as Mazatlan, Cancun, Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta.
In tandem with the launch of the new frequency, the low-cost carrier is offering promotional roundtrip fares of $449.
Interjet first launched service out of JFK in August 2012. Similar to JetBlue, the carrier flies a fleet of new A320s. These aircraft have one class of seating for 150 passengers, with seat pitch of a fairly generous 34 inches. The airline serves free snacks and premium beverages during flights between Mexico City and New York.
Its fleet comprises 52 airplanes. The carrier serves 38 domestic destinations and nine international destinations. Last year, Interjet carried 7.8 million passengers into Mexico, more than any other carrier.
