Kuwait's pavilion witnessed a great success for the third day in a row at the International Tourism Trade Fair (Fitur 2014) in Madrid, Spain, with the participation of 165 countries from all around the world.

Kuwait has a unique pavilion at the fair, which allows the visitors to be introduced to a variety of the country's most important monuments and touristic projects, as well as traditional art crafts, which constitute a significant factor in attracting tourists.

Kuwait's pavilion, represented by the tourism sector of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, set a number of meetings with Spanish and European government agencies, institutions and businessmen to discuss ways of cooperation, especially for the promotion of tourism in Kuwait.

The Ministry's Undersecretary, Sameera Al-Ghareeb, is heading the Kuwaiti delegation, which includes head of tourism department Sundus Al-Hamar, director of hotel affairs Khaled Al-Khuzam and several Kuwaiti companies, such as Touristic Enterprises Company (TES), Kuwait Tourism Services Company, Nuzha Tourism Services Company and Fendeq.com Company.

The fair helps in showcasing Kuwait's achievements and cultural role, as well as emphasizing its elements of cultural, natural and humanitarian knowledge, the participating companies told KUNA in separate statements.

TES is seeking through its annual participation at Fitur to introduce the urban architecture and important steps that Kuwait has been offering for the past years to set up a distinct tourism infrastructure, said TES Public Relations and Marketing Manager Saqer Al-Bader.

For his part, Kuwaiti artist and director of traditional industries of Failaka Island's Heritage Village Mohammad Dashti said that he brought a collection of heritage artworks to the fair, including boxes, doors, boat figures, drawings and paintings to introduce the visitors to.

Fendeq.com General Manager Bashar Al-Ostad told KUNA that this is his third participation at the fair, noting that his company has also participated under the tourism sector's pavilion at the tourism fair in Berlin, Germany.

He added that Fendeq.com is participating at Fitur 2014 to reflect the image of emerging Kuwaiti companies in the field of information technology, as well as to market the major destinations in the Arab region, especially that the company's activities are based in Arab cities in the Gulf and North Africa.

Around 9,000 institutions from 165 countries are participating at Fitur 2014 in Madrid as 200,000 from all around the world professionals and officials are expected to visit the fair.
