Latin American Congress of Journalism and Tourism Ends in Panama

After concluding the sessions of academic conferences on the tourism sector in Panama, participants in the Latin American Congress of Journalism and Tourism will tour the places of interest for visitors.

The Latin American Congress of Journalism and Tourism is being attended by delegates from 10 countries.

Delegates and exhibitors are from Canada, Uruguay, Argentina, the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Mexico, Ecuador, Brazil, Costa Rica and Panama.

The tours that delegates will make today and tomorrow in Panama –with the support of the Tourism Authority- include the Inter-oceanic Canal, the Biodiversity Museum and the Old Town among other attractions in the capital.

In the meeting convened by the Panama branch of the Latin American Alliance of these professionals, experiences of speakers from various latitudes were analyzed. They also addressed the subject treatment in the Brazilian media, the trends in the strategies of the ‘industry without chimneys’, the techniques to convey the journalistic messages, among others.

The regional president of the organization, Argentinean Miguel Angel Ledesma, recognized the validity of the meeting due to the richness of the interchange, and the experiences acquired by every professional during this event.

Likewise, the host, Luis Polo, received on behalf of his Panamanian counterparts, a certificate acknowledging the work of the subsidiary, which soon will hold the presidency of the organization.

Also, the Cuban representative, Hilda Prieto, made an extensive presentation of the possibilities offered by the International Institute of Journalism José Martí, in Havana, for the training of journalists in the sector in the continent, through a seminar that has been taking place annually for 12 years.
