Lima to Host the Latin American Congress of Official Tourist Guides

Peru's capital Lima has been announced as the host of the 17th National and 2nd Latin American Congress of Official Tourist Guides, having both the aim of discussing new trends to enhance the quality service provided by the sector.

The two conferences will take place on Nov 26-30, 2014. It will be organized by Lima's Official Tourist Guides Association (Agotur) and the Peruvian Association of Professional Tourist Guide Operators (Apepgotur).

Sessions of the five-day forum will address issues such as digital marketing, archeology, astronomy, art, rhetoric workshop, the current economic boom, tourist psychology, professional ethic, among others.

Luis Enrique Sanchez, Apepgotur's head, pointed out the congress will also discuss the guidelines for unifying criteria through the ongoing work of the Association of Latin American Guides.

Two major delegations from Brazil and Mexico have confirmed their attendance at the international congress, while invitations have been sent to Peru's counterparts from Ecuador, Colombia, Bolivia, Venezuela and Chile.
