Medical Tourism Conference to Be Held in Grand Bahama

Medicine is not only about making people better, but also about putting them in the right mind to feel better. With this idea in mind, Medical Tourism is on the horizon and more will be heard about it this week in Freeport.
According to the Katalyst, Medical Marketing Group, the world has changed its dynamic base on the communication evolution. They said it has changed the way people live their lives.
In a release the group said the fact that we communicate through phones and computers has given people access to travel easier and faster and that this is how "Medical Tourism" has evolved tremendously over the last decade.
"Cities with global connections, skilled workforces and incomparable natures put the highest goals within reach," they pointed out.
"Today any patient can decide where to go to be treated with the specialist they want, no matter where the doctor or the patient is located. The spirit of the Medical World is present in Freeport this week, since Grand Bahama's Medical and Dental Association is holding its annual medical conference.
"Local and international professionals will be attending this event. Katalyst, The Medical Marketing Group, since 1999 continues to be a leading force in Medical Marketing. Katalyst Corp is a Multicultural Communication Group that provides Physicians, Medical Corporations, Non-Profits and Governmental Agencies access to educate, reach and effectively interact with an ethnically diverse Latin American and Caribbean cultures to introduce Innovative Procedures, Technologies and Practices."
Andrea Schnell, Creative Director of Katalyst is quoted as saying "we are proud to participate and support the Grand Bahama Medical and Dental Association Congress this year. The Bahamas is a perfect place for vacation, and in addition of this, international patients can enjoy world class medical care while traveling."
Veronica Yussyn, Katalyst Marketing Director added, "at the same time, a patient from The Bahamas can be seeking treatment abroad while visiting another country."
The GBMDA Congress will be held from Thursday, October 4 to Saturday, October 6, 2012 at The Pelican Bay Resort, Lucaya, and Grand Bahama, in Bahamas. This year's theme is "Women's Health, the Heart of the Matter" is more than appropriate for the changes the public has seen in the delivery of healthcare services, and the new focus on women.
Katalyst understands that the final decision of what medical treatment the patient will have, in most of the cases, will come from the same patient.
"That's why it is key to educating them with available options worldwide. It's key as well that physicians meet and discuss about the latest treatments for their patients; Katalyst helps both. It is crucial for Katalyst to create strategies implementing, with proven results experience, new digital resources, lots of creativity with knowledge and passion for what doctors and medical companies stand for... their patients.
"Our mission is to develop Public Relations, educational programs and design strategies to targeted markets in the medical industry," says Schnell.
