MITT 2015 Gets Going in Russia
The 22nd edition of the Moscow International Travel & Tourism Exhibition (MITT 2015) is underway in Russia. Over 2,000 exhibitors from nearly 200 countries and regions started showcasing their products today at the Expocentre Fairgrounds in the Russian capital.
All in all, there are nine different halls that cover a grand total of 57,737 square meters of exhibition space. Roughly 400 members of media outlets and organizations will be providing news coverage of this major event, including the Excelencias Group’s Caribbean News Digital.
MITT traditionally marks the beginning of the region’s spring-summer tourism season. It is Russia’s largest and longest running travel and tourism exhibition, and one of the world’s top five industry events.
Annually, the event goes from strength to strength, and showcases an excess of 2,000 travel companies. 75% of exhibitors represent international destinations – a figure which has seen constant growth as more international destinations value Russia as their main inbound tourism source.
The event is a must-attend for tour operators, travel service providers and national tourism boards to promote to Russia’s tourism market. The first two days of the show are dedicated to trade visitors only.
Coming new in this year’s edition is the online matchmaking service, an opportunity to pre-schedule appointments with key buyers in attendance. Each exhibitor and qualified visitor will have access to an online networking platform, enabling attendees to arrange meetings before the event begins.
Introduced to accommodate the growing demand from international travel companies, Global Village will be a dedicated exhibiting area reserved for international travel service providers to showcase their offerings.
MITT is organized by the ITE Group, one of the world’s leading exhibition organizers. Every year 30 offices that form the Group organize more than 230 events in 15 countries around the world. In Russia the ITE Group operates through its offices in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Krasnodar and Yekaterinburg.
A delegation of Cuba’s Tourism Ministry is once again attending the event. The largest Caribbean island will be lodged in booth F360 at the Pavilion Forum of the Expocentre Fairgrounds.
