MITT 2017 to Zero in on B2B

Next year Moscow International Travel and Tourism exhibition, Russia’s largest international travel show, will run from 14 till 16 March 2017.

For the first time MITT will take place in a three-day B2B format – from Tuesday to Thursday 10:00-18:00 every day. This will improve the exhibition’s commercial effect by giving exhibitors and visitors more time for business meetings and talks over a fewer number of days.

“Holding MITT earlier in the year will be welcomed by representatives of the national and international tourism industries as it will now be more convenient to travel from ITB in Berlin (8-12 March) to MITT, minimizing transport expenses and time between the key spring exhibitions,” commented Maria Badakh, Event & Sales Director MITT.

Despite the fact that Turkish tourism companies and a series of operators whose main destinations were in Turkey could not exhibit in 2016, the results of the show are impressive:

• 1,624 exhibitors from 182 countries and regions of the world

• 28,035 visitors from 77 regions of Russia and 97 other countries

• 7 pavilions and halls covering more than 53,000 sqm

MITT was attended by directors and senior managers of major tourism agencies and tour operators from almost all regions of Russia. Alternatives to Turkish destinations were in high demand at the exhibition, with queues at suppliers’ stands every day.

“MITT 2016 took place at the highest level. Despite the challenging times for the tourism industry, the exhibition drew a lot of interest from a large number of representatives of the Russian and international tourism industry and corporate customers. For us, MITT is the best tried and tested place for meeting partners from different corners of the world, closing important deals, and making new contacts and acquaintances. We are very satisfied with the results,”Svetlana Baranova, PR Director of tour operator BSI Group.
