Beginning on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2015, travelers can fly non-stop from Tampa International Airport, Florida to the Abaco Islands in the Bahamas when Silver Airways introduces a new service. The flights are directly to Marsh Harbor, the largest town on Great Abaco Island departing every Saturday and Sunday.

This is welcome news for leisure travelers or romantics because The Abacos are a perfect mix of natural beauty and an unspoiled resort. These islands are a great place to relax and hideaway from the crowds or for inspiring passion. With quaint cottages nestling among coconut palms, well-appointed villas that come with private pools or deluxe hotels with lavish amenities, visitors are never far from the ocean.

The Abacos are also known as a world class destination for sailing and is recognized as the boating capital of The Bahamas. Yachts anchor in the marinas after a day of cruising the calm seas and scenic cays. Besides being recognized as a celebrated boating location, wrecks, deep reefs and caves make The Abacos a scuba diving haven while shallower reefs offer snorkelers a superb view of colorful marine life.

Silver Airlines, which serves various destinations in Florida, will operate the flights with its fleet of 34-seat Saab aircraft. The flights are a part of the airline's expansion of Florida-Bahamas routes as well as additional frequencies between Florida cities, including an extra weekly flight between Tampa and Fort Lauderdale, beginning February 12.

Get a head start on a romantic trip to Abaco! Now through December 22, 2014, travelers can book their direct flight to the Abaco islands. Silver Airlines is offering introductory fares from $139 to the Bahamas and $179 from the Bahamas (one way, including taxes and fees). These rates are valid for nonstop travel between February 2015 and April 30, 2015.
