Norwegian, Ferrari Team Up for Onboard Go-Kart Track

Officials from Norwegian Cruise Line announced a new partnership Monday with Scuderia Ferrari Watches as a part of the entertainment and activities onboard Norwegian Joy.

Scuderia Ferrari Watches, the official timekeeper of the racing division of the Italian auto manufacturer, will be the branded sponsor of the two-level competitive racetrack located on the top deck of the Norwegian Joy cruise ship.

The Ferrari electric go-cart track will allow up to ten drivers at a time to race each other in a fierce competition during each voyage. In addition, passengers who race on the Ferrari go-cart track will be eligible to have pictures taken at the finish line to share with friends and family.

Norwegian Cruise Line customers who purchase voyages in The Haven Level and Concierge Level Cabins will be given complimentary access to the go-cart track as part of the amenities and benefits of the cabin types.

Not only does the Ferrari partnership add more excitement to the go-cart track, but it also allows the retail store located next to the race track on the Norwegian Joy to sell Scuderia Ferrari Watches.

The partnership between Norwegian and Scuderia Ferrari Watches is part of the build to the unveiling of the 3,850-passenger Norwegian Joy, which will be the cruise line’s first purpose-built ship for the Chinese market.

Once deployed in the summer of 2017, the new vessel will home port in Shanghai and Tianjin, following a grand inaugural port tour leading up to a christening ceremony on June 27, led by her Godfather, Wang Leehom.
