Norwegian Gem to Sail from San Juan in 2016-17
Norwegian Cruise Line announced its deployments for 2016-17, which include moving the 2,384-passenger Norwegian Gem to San Juan for the winter season.
Gem will offer seven-day Southern Caribbean itineraries. Stops include Barbados, Martinique, St. Maarten, St. Kitts and St. Thomas. This winter, it is scheduled to do nine- and 10-day Eastern Caribbean cruises from New York.
Most of the other ships in Norwegian’s fleet will do itineraries similar to this year, keeping with the line’s emphasis on deployment continuity.
In 2016-17 Norwegian will put three ships in Alaska, four in Europe and two on itineraries to Bermuda, while also offering Florida/Bahamas cruises, Hawaii and South America.
The new itineraries opened Dec. 9 for group bookings, and go on sale on Dec. 16 for Latitudes Rewards guests and President’s Club travel partners and on Dec. 18 for all bookings.
