Oceania Adds Caribbean Culinary Program for the Riviera
Oceania Cruises will offer culinary tours and cooking classes onboard the Riviera when that ship returns to the Caribbean in late 2016. The excursion program includes in-depth tours in Honduras, Cozumel and San Juan.
In San Juan, for example, guests will have lunch at Santaella restaurant in the city’s Santurce district, followed by a visit to La Placita Mercado Santurce, a quaint marketplace with local fruits and vegetables, handicrafts and botanicals.
That will be followed by a chocolate demonstration and tasting at Casa Cortes and a coffee-brewing seminar and cup of mountain-grown coffee at Café Cuatro Sombras.
Culinary Discovery Tours are accompanied by the ship’s master chef instructor and begin with an orientation of the local culture and cuisine. Many conclude with a destination-inspired cooking class back at the Culinary Center.
Oceania said the new Culinary Center courses include Patio Pleasures, a grilling class; Wake Up To Brunch; and Cuban Family Table, in which guests will explore Cuba via family recipes and learn to concoct the perfect mojito.
