OTDYKH International Russian Travel Market Coming in September

From 16 to 19 September 2014 Russia’ s leading autumn travel event OTDYKH International Russian Travel Market, previously known as “Otdykh Leisure” or “MATIW”,  will celebrate its 20th edition with a newly rebranded look and a new advertising campaign.

The word “OTDYKH” means “leisure”, which is exactly the central aspiration of this professional exhibition: this annually held travel event in Moscow is the perfect start for the upcoming winter season on the Russian inbound and outbound market.

In 20 years of existence, OTDYKH Leisure has become the leading exhibition dedicated to the travel industry and – due to September dates– it is a must-attend event for long haul, exotic, winter sun, and ski destinations, all vacations preferred by Russian travellers during long and cold Russian winter.

From year to year this traditional tourism forum continuous to gain in importance as a unique professional meeting point which represents the beginning of a winter season and offers to its international and Russian exhibitors as well as visitors a great opportunity to negotiate prices, to make new contacts, to find partners and to exchange ideas about promising sectors in tourism industry and new business development in this field.

OTDYKH combines all sectors of the tourism value chain: Leisure travel, Mice, Luxury travel, Medical & heath travel, IT Technology on Tourism.  This year a new and highly demanded sector of Wine & Gourmet travel will be implemented into an exhibition structure, representing world's best food and wine tours.

Since its first edition in 1995, OTDYKH used to be a platform for new destinations and companies to enter the rapidly growing market of Russian outbound travellers.  National Tourism Offices from all over the world chose OTDYKH Leisure to promote their countries and to attract Russian travellers, including Argentina, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Cuba, Jamaica, Mexico, Venezuela, Peru etc.  In 2014, Paraguay Ministry of Tourism will join the show for the first time.  The show will again see a strong participation of private companies from Latin America and Caribbean.

OTDYKH 2014 will again organize a comprehensive supplementary program which is from year to year absolutely unique for Russia. Several international conferences will take place within 4 exhibition days, including OTDYKH MICE (International Meeting Industry and Business Travel Conference), OTDYKH SPA&HEALTH (International Conference on Medical and Health travel), IT -Technology in Tourism. Over 150 seminars, master classes, press conferences and governmental meetings with international and Russian tourism authorities will take place during 20th OTDYKH edition.
