Over 9,500 Companies to Attend Fitur 2016

Fitur 2016 is the greatest tourism fair. This edition has set a new participation record with 9,500 companies from 165 countries and regions, which occupy nearly 60,000 m² of the fairground.
The wine realm is also trying to gain ground in this fair by means of denominations, organizations and wineries, which know for sure that both enotourism and wine are to be present in this event.
Madrid will be hosting the 36th edition of Fitur on January 20 - 24. This important business and promotion platform for the international travel industry features amazing numbers: 9,500 companies from 165 countries and regions will be attending the event, 60,000 m² of fairground and the amount of direct exhibitors has gone up, with a 3 percent growth and 2 percent in terms of occupancy. As for visitors, a growth is expected, thus surpassing the 222,551 attendees welcomed in the previous edition of the event.
The increasing bet of the sector, which speaks high of Fitur’s growth for two years in a row, in line with the excellent evolution of the industry worldwide, is directly linked to the positive expectations for this new edition that will be opening the international circuit of events related to the travel industry.
This information is undoubtedly backed up by the positive moment the international travel industry is going through and the same happens in Spain, with 68 million of international tourists in 2015, thus holding the third position on the planet due to the number of arrivals (right behind France and the United States) and the second one in terms of incomes (following the USA).
Denominations of Origen, Wine Paths, associations and museums related to this product and, of course, wineries are usual participants of this fair.
The latest market trends will be present, as well as their habitual monographic sections that show the growing market segmentation and the opening of new business opportunities. Moreover, Fitur 2016 offers an intense schedule of sessions and professional meetings, such as the 8th Forum on Tourism Leadership, organized by Exceltur, to be debating on “Innovative Policies Aimed at Reaching out to Digital Tourists”; 19th Iberian-American Conference of Tourism Ministers and Entrepreneurs, CIMET; the activities organized by the WTO, including the ceremony to deliver the 12th WTO Awards to Excellence and Innovation in the Travel Industry.
All of these elements and more can be found in the 36th edition of Fitur, which will be exclusively dedicated to professionals on January 20 - 22 (10:00 - 19:00 hours), and open to the public during the weekend.
