Registration for the Second International Congress LABIOFAM 2012 Now Open

LABIOFAM Business Group is summoning researchers and specialists to attend 2nd International Congress LABIOFAM 2012 and the 2nd Symposium on Natural Products in Therapy against Cancer, to be held on September 24 – 28 at Havana’s Intl. Convention Center.

In the new edition of this scientific event, LABIOFAM Business Group, an institution in charge of responding to the requirements of veterinary medicine in Cuba, will be shedding light on the latest research outcomes in terms of animal health. The development of veterinary products, biosecurity, the practical expertise in the use of pharmaceuticals and homeopathic compounds aimed at veterinary medicine are going to be some of the topics to be dealt with.

Natural products as an alternative for human health will also gain momentum in the event. Studies linked to Rhopalurus junceus scorpion’s poison catch the eye of the international scientific community due to its analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-tumoral characteristics. New values of the previously-mentioned natural substance will be unveiled during the Congress, a substance that is presently used in the production of Vidatox 30 CH and Vidatox Plus, human-use drugs which are called to become leading drugs within LABIOFAM Business Group’s product portfolio.

Several master lectures are scheduled to be delivered by acclaimed Cuban and foreign researchers. Roundtables, symposiums and product promotions are going to be carried out within the framework of a collateral fair to the event, as well as the presentation of posters.

Topics related to experiences in the control of outbreaks by using biological methods and the development of prebiotic and probiotic food for human and animal intake are joined, in this kind of events, by agriculture-use biopesticides and biofertilizers –a new LABIOFAM Business Group’s product line.

This International Congress, held by the Cuban scientific institution every other year, will be celebrating in its upcoming edition the 50th anniversary of a research center that presently provides 98 percent of products required by veterinary medicine in our country and works on the remodeling and diversification of its productions as a warranty to achieve sustainable development.
