Santiago de Cuba Welcomes First Cruise Ship for this Season

The arrival in Santiago de Cuba of the Braemar ship sailing from Jamaica on a Caribbean cruise marked the beginning of the season of this tourism modality in the eastern city of the island this year.
The 900 passengers aboard Braemar landed in Santiago Thursday morning for an overnight stay. Many of them set off on excursions offered by Cuban travel agency Viajes Cubanacan that took them to historical places and sites of great cultural and patrimonial value, while others ventured out into the city to get a closer look of the island and their people.
The ship was welcomed at the local port to the beat of live Son music played by Aldo and his group, accompanied by dancers who got travelers to move their feet to the music as they left the boat.
