The Seaborne Pride to Make Second Call to Statia

The Seabourn Pride luxury cruise line visited the island of Saint Eustatius, affectionately known as Statia, earlier this year with over 200 passengers on board. The ship made its inaugural visit to the island last year on New Year’s Eve and returned to the shores of the Golden Rock, with other cruise visits lined up and listed in the annual itinerary.

The Seabourn Pride, along with its sister ship Seabourn Legend, are both expected to make four calls to St. Eustatius this year. Seabourn is a cruise liner that’s ideal for cruising the uncommon Caribbean, such as Statia - destinations and harbors that are off the well-worn path - recapturing the laid-back charm and timeless beauty that earned the sea its reputation.

On land at arrival, as passengers disembark the tenders, there were several vendors displaying their many products, including local arts and crafts, jewelry, other locally-made and hand-crafted items, and t-shirts just to name a few. In addition, a tourist information counter is always noticeable at the dock for all tourism and island-related inquiries. Aboard the ship at the hospitality desk, a tourism representative will be on hand to assist the guests.

“We welcome the Seabourn and all other vessels of this type willing to call on Statia shores; we are definitely open for business,” said Charles Lindo, Director of Tourism.
