Sheraton Old San Juan Forks over $4 Million in Extensive Renovations

The Sheraton Old San Juan Hotel & Casino invested over four million dollars in an extensive renovation of its facilities, announced G. Armando Emanuelli, Director of Sales and Marketing.

We are proud to announce the completion of extensive renovations and improvements at the Sheraton Old San Juan Hotel & Casino.  The $4MM investment included phased upgrades ranging from total rooms renovations, corridors, key public areas, Palio Restaurant, as well as building exteriors and new technology.  The renovation was completed in January 2014, said Emanuelli.

The 240 guestrooms and suites were renovated with new painting and colors, new carpets, modern sitting chairs, ottoman, bedside tables and lamps, modern collage artwork pieces and bathroom vanities. The Sheraton Old San Juan also added new amenities to the rooms like: iHome music – radio charging stations, new guest link by Sheraton computers, expanded WiFi bandwidth, as well as free WiFi in all the hotel areas.

The brand new feel was designed to embrace the architectural mélange of buildings in Old San Juan and appreciating the historic nature of the hotel.  The firm KBCO Design used the grand stair and intricate wood detailing as the basis of design while layering in color and patterns indicative of the surrounding area for a fresh twist on traditional design.  The guestroom transformation is light and airy with splashes of teal and orange for a more Caribbean influence.

The refresh will also be seen throughout the hotel's public areas, like corridors, building exteriors and its Palio Restaurant.  With a redesigned wireless infrastructure, guests will experience faster Internet service within the public areas, guest rooms, and meetings facilities free of charge.

We look forward to announcing additional renovation plans in a very near future like:  San Juan’s first and only Bacardi Rum Bar, outdoor lounges, a renewed website, upgrade to all their meeting facilities, elevators and a new coffee shop, stated Emanuelli.
