Silver Airways Makes Inaugural Palm Beach to Grand Bahama Flight

Silver Airways made its Inaugural Flight from Palm Beach International airport to Grand Bahama Island on November 22nd, 2013.

The aircraft was sprayed with water in the landing ceremony, and travellers were greeted upon disembarking by the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism officials;

Rev. Arnold Pinder, President of the Grand Bahama Christian Council; Senator Tanisha Tynes; David Johnson, Director General of Tourism; executives of the Grand Bahama Port Authority and Group of Companies, senior government officials and heads of departments; and executives of Silver Airways.

Opening remarks at the commemoration ceremony hosted by the Grand Bahama Island tourism office were given by Terrance Roberts, Director of Business Development who said, "We extend an especially warm welcome to the Silver Airways team, led by David Pflieger. We pledge our continued commitment to the delivery of first class destination experiences that will result in increased demand and mutual economic benefits, as well as accelerated tourism growth for Grand Bahama Island in 2014 and beyond."
