Sunset Resorts, Jamaica Introduces Sunrise Adventure Camp
Sunset Resorts, a charming collection of all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica, announces a new, exciting summer program Sunrise Adventure Camp for young guests staying at either of Montego Bay’s Sunset Beach Resort Spa & Waterpark and The Oasis at Sunset, giving every member of the family the freedom to have fun.
With the largest in-resort waterpark on the island and marine sanctuary just off the beach, the 304-room Sunset Beach Resort, Spa & Waterpark is perfect for families and friends, while the more intimate 124-deluxe and club room setting at The Oasis at Sunset delivers fun-filled opportunities to discerning guests with full access to Sunset Beach. Children under two stay free at either of the resorts, a child supplement for ages 3-12 years is applied, and 13 years and up are at regular rate.
“I’ve come across so many hotels claiming to offer kids stay free deals yet when children, especially teenagers, get to the hotel, they find themselves bored with little to do,” said Sunset Beach Resort general manager Evatt Bloomfield. The Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association named Bloomfield Hotelier of the Year in 2013. “We’ve decided to take a step further and build on our resorts’ assets which our young guests already love, and created an invigorating program designed just for them.”
The Sunrise Adventure Camp is available to book now for travel June 1 through Aug. 31, 2014, at no additional charge to the resorts’ guests. All supervised activities are set weekly with new events regularly posted and coordinated to make sure that each age group is able to participate in the fun and every whim is satisfied.
Young explorers will love the camp’s educational programs including Discover It, where children take a walking tour and learn all about Jamaica’s farming, flora and fauna; and Marine Exploration trips, where children embark on an educational ecology expedition with Montego Bay Marine Park Fraternity experts while discovering firsthand colorful reefs and feeding fish from a glass bottom boat. Upon return to the resort, each child receives an honorary Marine Park Ranger certification.
For the athletic little ones, they can hone in star-quality techniques at the Tennis Clinic under the expert guidance of Tony Tummings; score FIFA World Cup-style goals with local Jamaican soccer players at the Reggae Boyz and Girlz Soccer Club; and perfect that putt in the Miniature Golf Challenge.
Imagination and creativity are enhanced with The Future Chefs Class, where every one learns to cook yummy specialties and bake delicious desserts, guided by the award winning culinary team; Aim, Shoot & Share as children zoom in and focus in this photography workshop; Arts & Crafts Anyone, cultivating a connection with local artisans and natural products; and Dive-in Movie Nights for a whole family bonding evening in the Pirates Paradise Waterpark.
“We have wonderful programs for children throughout the year, but we wanted to enhance our programs during these summer months, and will continue to develop the camp every year with up-to-date additions and features, to give our children and teens the most fun imaginable on their family vacation,” said Sunset Resorts sales and marketing manager Tanesha Clarke. “All of our events are supervised, giving the parents a little time together on their own, and pleases us to see parents as happy as their kids.”
