Tropic Ocean Airways to Launch Seaplane Service to Abaco

Fort Lauderdale-based Tropic Ocean Airways will launch twice-weekly scheduled seaplane service from Fort Lauderdale to Hope Town, Great Abaco in the Bahamas Out Islands on Feb. 14.
The carrier has partnered with iJet Charters, also based in Fort Lauderdale, to offer the one-hour flights aboard a new eight-passenger Cessna Caravan turboprop, which departs from the Sheltair terminal at Fort Lauderdale's airport.
The seaplane drops the guests on the beaches at Hope Town, eliminating the need for taxi and ferry transportation from the airport at Marsh Harbor.
Tropic Ocean also will begin twice-weekly seaplane flights from the Galaxy Aviation terminal at Palm Beach's airport to Hope Town on March 14.
