Air Turks & Caicos, the national airline of Turks and Caicos, has changed its name to InterCaribbean Airways "to better reflect our mission of connecting travelers in the Caribbean," according to Lyndon Gardiner, chairman.

"For the first time, traveling between the islands of the western Caribbean may take an hour or two instead of a day or two. With the forthcoming expansion of our services, residents and visitors will be able to travel faster and easier," Gardiner said.

The carrier currently offers domestic flights from Providenciales to Grand Turk and South Caicos and international flights to Santo Domingo, Puerto Plata and Santiago in the Dominican Republic, Cap Haitien and Port au Prince in Haiti, Kingston in Jamaica and Nassau, Bahamas.

More international routes are planned in the near future.
