United Airlines is celebrating its first anniversary of service to St Lucia from its New York-area hub, Newark Liberty International Airport.

The Saturday service from Newark Liberty to Hewanorra International Airport in St Lucia is operated with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft featuring 154 seats -- 16 in United First and 138 in United Economy, including 48 United Economy Plus seats with added legroom.

The service provides convenient connections at Newark Liberty to and from 15 key destinations in the US, including Chicago, Boston and Washington DC, as well as various Canadian destinations.

“We are very happy to celebrate one year of service to St Lucia, which is one of the Caribbean’s best-kept secrets as a year-round vacation getaway,” said Milagros Uriarte, United’s director, Latin America Onshore and Caribbean Sales.

United Airlines began operating to the Caribbean in 1989. Today, the airline operates more than 200 flights a week to 18 cities in the Caribbean from its hubs at Chicago, Houston, New York/Newark and Washington, DC/Dulles.
