Uniworld Offers Special Family-Friendly Sailings

Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has earmarked cruises this summer for families. These cruises have been developed around summer vacations and special shore excursions were tailored for families.

Young people between ages 4 and 18 can travel at 50 percent off the cruise price when traveling with an adult. Included are meals, entertainment, lectures and demonstrations onboard, shore excursions hosted by local guides, complimentary use of bicycles, and transfers of departure and arrival days.

Family-friendly departures are scheduled for two nine-day “Castles Along the Rhine” vacations from Basel to Amsterdam on July 10 and Aug. 7 on the River Ambassador. Family cruises also are set for the nine-day “Paris & Normandy” vacations departing July 3 and July 17 on the Seine River from Paris to Normandy and back to Paris.

The seven-night cruise in a river-view stateroom on the River Baroness also includes an air balloon ride at Parc Andre Citroen; a visit to Gros Horloge, a medieval clock, for an escorted tour behind the dials; a scavenger hunt in Rouen to find chocolate candies called “Joan of Arc’s tears”; a boat ride under the Normandy Bridge in Honfleur; a hike to Chateau Gaillard in Les Andelys; a full day at the Normandy landing beaches; French language classes onboard; and the pastry cooking class, ship tour with captain and playroom.
