UNWTO International Conference to Take Place within the Framework of FITUR 2007

The UNWTO Education and Knowledge Management Department and its UNWTO-THEMIS Foundation are announcing that they will be holding an International Conference on Excellence in Tourism Governance: Strategic and Operational Issues on February 1, within the activities of the FITUR International Tourism Trade Fair, at the premises of Juan Carlos I in Madrid Fairgrounds in Spain’s Madrid.

Experience has proven that, among the instrumental objectives of tourism policy, the world travel industry must now put emphasis on Tourism Governance. Tourism Governance is already the most important element for value creation within organizations, and as such, an inseparable part of service processes, tourism policies and decision-making in general.

The International Conference will address outcomes of the UNWTO.Sbest Think Tank on UNWTO.Sbest Excellence in T-Governance, held on January 30 and 31, embracing theory and practice in T-governance, UNWTO.Sbest Certifications, other applications of the UNWTO.Sbest Initiative, T-Strategy, positioning and branding, as well as efficiency in tourism promotion and communications.
