The Orlando-Havana flights will be operated by Swift Airlines. The fare initially will be $429 per person round trip. The price may change, according to a spokesperson for Island Travel & Tours Ltd. Baggage fees will be $35 for the first bag.
The company will initially offer one flight per week leaving Wednesdays. The company will use a Boeing 737-300 aircraft with a capacity of 120 seats, 112 coach seats and eight first class seats.
Island Travel & Tours Ltd. already offers flights to Havana from Tampa and Miami. Island Travel & Tours is offering only the flights. Passengers must make their own arrangements in Cuba.
Although regulations on travel to Cuba were loosened after President Obama’s executive order last December, the U.S. embargo of Cuba is still in place. Americans traveling to Cuba must still apply to the Office of Foreign Assets Control for approval and comply with the regulations governing people to people travel.
