FlyersRights.org, the largest US-based airline passenger organization, in light of the shoot down of the MH 17 flight over eastern Ukraine, has called on all airlines to provide passengers on international flights with detailed route maps on their web sites.

American Airlines is making changes to its international winter flying schedule to add new service and better match capacity with customer demand.  The moves include adding new service to Viracopos International Airport (VCP) in Campinas, Brazil, from American's hubs at Miami International Airport (MIA) and New York's John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK).

American Airlines will launch new daily service between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Cap-Haitien, Haiti (CAP), adding a new international destination to the airline's growing global network. Customers can now book travel on the new route for travel beginning October 2, 2014, subject to government approval.

LIAT is acknowledging that newly launched Phoenix Airways represents competition for the regional airline. Barbados-based LIAT Chairman Jean Holder tells WINN FM that he is aware that the St Kitts-based Phoenix began flight operations on July 16.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is to expand its long-haul service to South America next year with a new scheduled service to Colombia’s capital, Bogota, and Cali, the country’s third-largest city.

JetBlue Airways has announced its new nonstop service from New York to Curacao.  Beginning December 2, 2014, JetBlue will become the only airline to offer nonstop flights from New York to Curacao.
