
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced global passenger traffic results for May showing demand growth of 6.2 percent compared to May 2013. While this represented a deceleration compared to April year-over-year traffic growth of 7.6 percent, the performance is indicative of improving demand drivers.

The government of Spain announced that it will freeze airport tariffs until 2025 to enhance air traffic in the country. The airline industry in Spain was deteriorating due to low air traffic which is hit by years of high charges and a prolonged economic strife.
