As part of its £5 billion investment program to make travel more comfortable and convenient for customers, British Airways is trialing a new service which will allow its customers to use an automatic check-in service. The service would change the future of airline check-in, as it is known today.

The International Council of Tourism Partners (ICTP) announced that Jet Airways has joined the growing alliance as an associate member. Jet Airways, based in Mumbai, India, commenced its operations in May 1993.

Competition for leisure travelers will increase with Air Canada's planned formation of an integrated leisure group, combining the activities of its tour operator business, Air Canada Vacations, with its new low-cost leisure airline to be launched in 2013.
JetBlue Airway, New York's Hometown Airline, and Royal Air Maroc, the flag carrier of the Kingdom of Morocco, announced the launch of an interline agreement to connect each other's networks and bring new flight options to travellers between Africa and the Americas. Through the arrangement, effective immediately, travellers can book single-ticket travel combining flights on both carriers and enjoy one-stop baggage check-in when they transfer between the airlines at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).

Grenada’s Airlift Committee is in talks with Caribbean Airlines on potentially servicing the Grenada-London route, according to Tourism Minister Senator George Vincent. The news comes after British Airways announced a cutback on its flights to Grenada.
