TAM Airlines' chief executive said in a newspaper interview published on Friday that Brazilian carrier plans to cut domestic routes in 2013 to restore profitability in the face of high fuel costs and cooling demand. The outlook reinforces a continued emphasis on cost-cutting.

The Caribbean forms the bedrock of British Airways’ long-haul schedule from Gatwick, with daily flights to Antigua, Saint Lucia and Barbados through the summer and increased frequencies in winter.

Led by Southwest Airlines, several airlines are raising prices again. Southwest raised fares Wednesday by $10 per roundtrip on about 10 percent of its routes. United Airlines expanded the increase later in the day to cover most of its U.S. flights.

SkyWest, Inc. announced that it has signed a Capacity Purchase Agreement (CPA) with American Airlines, Inc. to operate 23 Bombardier CRJ200 regional jet aircraft under the American Eagle designation. SkyWest serves markets in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Caribbean sub-regional airline Winair will recommence scheduled flights between St. Maarten and St. Kitts & Nevis on October 29, 2012. That announcement was made by St. Kitts & Nevis Minister of Tourism & International Transport.
