Right now it is only Fathom’s Adonia that has clearance to dock at Cuban seaports. Over time other brands would be going to Cuba as well.

From November 21, Celestyal will sail seven-night all-inclusive cruises, which include two days in Havana, and a call at Maria La Gorda, Cienfuegos and Santiago de Cuba.

Following U.S. protests, political pressure and even a lawsuit against Carnival Corporation, Cuba has decided to allow Cuban-born passengers to travel to and from the island by sea, effectively clearing the way for Carnival to proceed as scheduled with its May 1 cruise from the U.S. to Cuba.

Carnival Corp. CEO Arnold Donald said that confusion created in the past week over the Fathom brand’s cruises to Cuba led the company to “update” its policy about whether to take Cuban-born residents on the upcoming voyages.

Carnival Pride last set sail out of Tampa Bay in 2014. The ship has since been upgraded with new amenities. It sailed out of Baltimore last year.

Carnival Cruise Line has extended the length of time its ships spend in Cozumel, Mexico, in order to provide more opportunities for shore excursions.
