Colombia has increased the number of cruise ships arriving in the country threefold in the last six years according to new figures from the Ministry of Commerce Industry and Tourism.

MSC Cruises has opened bookings on the MSC Divina’s first cruise in North America, which departs Nov. 20 from Miami. The three-night cruise will include a sail-away party, fireworks, photo opportunities, memorabilia gifts and special performances.

About 1.2 billion Jamaican dollars (approximately $12 million) has been earmarked by Jamaica's Tourism Enhancement Fund for four major projects in resort areas across the island, according to Wykeham McNeill, tourism minister.

A strengthening Tropical Storm Chantal has forced two Carnival ships to alter itineraries. The line says the 2,974-passenger Carnival Liberty today skipped a visit to St. Thomas due to the storm's approach and instead made a stop in San Juan, Puerto Rico that originally had been scheduled for Wednesday.
