Carnival Cruise Lines is offering best available upgrades on virtually all departures through December 2011. Carnival also offers up to a $200 onboard credit per stateroom for all Carnival Magic Europe voyages booked on Oct. 13. The WLCN best available upgrade offer applies to new individual bookings for stateroom categories 4A and higher. Upgrades are available within specific stateroom accommodation types (interior to interior, ocean-view to ocean-view, balcony to balcony).

MSC Cruises is offering a “The More the Merrier” rate with significant savings on the Christmas sailing of MSC Poesia in the Caribbean. The special rate is available on the seven-night Dec. 19 Western Caribbean itinerary from Fort Lauderdale.

Holland America Line will operate 22 holiday cruises ranging from seven to 17 days. The line offers up to 50 percent savings, plus reduced rates for third and fourth guests sharing staterooms on select sailings. Special rates are geared toward families on several holiday cruises -- with six dates offering free or $199 rates for the third or fourth guest in a stateroom.

Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., which has long called on a private beach in Haiti, has started construction on a school on the earthquake-ravaged island. Richard Fain, chairman and CEO of RCCL, said the first school is in northern Haiti near several villages and is intended to go from kindergarten to fifth grade the first year, and increase a grade annually, with vocational training in the evenings.

Louis Cruises details its Eastern and Western Mediterranean cruises in its new March 2011-March 2012 brochure. The 60-page publication includes itineraries on five vessels, including the Louis Cristal, Louis Majesty, Coral, Orient Queen and Aquamarine.

Crystal Cruises is offering new bonus savings of $2,000 per couple on penthouse accommodations and $1,000 per couple on verandah staterooms for its March 31 Mexican Riviera cruise when booked by Dec. 31. The 10-day cruise sails roundtrip from Los Angeles.
