Celebrity Cruises is expanding “Savor,” the culinary-and-wine/spirits-focused pillar of Celebrity Life, to include special interest cruises with guest chefs and other food and wine experts. The new “Savor Your Destination” cruises kicked off June 1 when the Celebrity Eclipse set sail with Australian chef Benjamin Christie onboard.
Crystal Cruises is offering an “Experiences of Discovery Jazz Cruise” on the Crystal Serenity in the Caribbean in December. With live performances from piano solos to trios, quartets and seven-piece bands, the 10-day Caribbean cruise departs from Miami on Dec. 11. The Bill Allred Classic Jazz Band will headline, along with a variety of solo artists. In all, six jazz pianists, nine brass musicians, and eight artists on drums and strings will be accompanied by four jazz vocalists.
Crystal Cruises announced significant savings for select September to November 2010 Mediterranean cruises, with $4,000 per couple off its ultra-plush Penthouse accommodations, and Business Class Air add-on fares as low as $899 per person for verandah stateroom guests.
Royal Caribbean International is making enhancements to its Crown & Anchor Society loyalty program. Among the new offerings, which began rolling out on June 1, is that members can book cruises onboard and receive an onboard credit for their future sailing.
Celebrity Cruises has long been recognized for offering award-winning cuisine, and in August, the brand will pair the top-rated megaship, Celebrity Solstice, with invitation-only events sponsored by Food Network and designed for culinary enthusiasts, through the first “Food Network at Sea” program.
Royal Caribbean International announced 47 additional Europe cruises in 2011-12 aboard Splendour of the Seas and Mariner of the Seas. Sailing roundtrip from Venice, Splendour of the Seas will offer a new series of 10- and 11-night Greek Isles and Turkey itineraries.
