A host of industry leaders celebrated after the winners were revealed at the World Travel Awards South & Central America Gala Ceremony 2014, a the Centro Cultural Itchimbía, in Ecuadorian capital Quito.

Around 250 surfers from some 20 countries and regions are expected to compete in the 10th World Bodyboard Championshipon Playa Parguito, Venezuela, one of the many beaches on Margarita Island, which is located in the state of Nueva Espana.

The theme reads "Improving the Passenger Experience and Securing Sustainable Market Growth in the Caribbean: A Review of the Latest Technological Trends, Operational Best Practices, Cost Implications and Strategies for 2014 and Beyond".

Even with summer in full swing, it's never too early to look ahead to the start of autumn. Fall on the One happy island of Aruba marks the start of "Arubapalooza," the seasonal extravaganza encompassing countless cultural, culinary, music and fashion-oriented events and festivals.

Building on the success of last year's event the program is attracting some very senior speakers to take part in the panel sessions with confirmations received, so far, from the likes of Ricky Skerritt, Minister of Tourism and International Transport for St Kitts and Nevis, Peter Cerda, RVP The Americas for IATA and Alfredo Gonzalez, Senior Vice President, Global Market Development, for event sponsors, Brand USA.
