The St. Maarten Annual Regional Trade Show (SMART) is slated for May 16-18, 2012 at the Radisson Blue Resort, Marina & Spa in St. Martin to promote tourism to the Eastern Caribbean. SMART 2012 focuses on St. Maarten and its neighboring islands in the Eastern Caribbean and has become a significant event to the region in the recent years.
The 13th Annual Caribbean Conference on Sustainable Tourism (STC-13) –to be held in Guyana from 15 to 18 April- will focus on effective ways to monitor and manage the use of the region’s natural resources to limit depletion while maximizing the socio-economic benefits of tourism.
The Nordic Travel Fair 2012 organized at the Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Center on 19-22 January 2012 brought together people interested in traveling. Almost 1,100 exhibitors from more than 70 countries ensured an impressive start for the travel year.
The Dominican Republic’s development on the Russian market officially began at the end of 2004, when the Ministry’s representative office started operating in Russia. In 2004, the Dominican Republic received less than 3,000 visitors from Russia. In the seven years since the office was set up, the country has entered the list of the top-ten destinations, and by the end of 2011 the flow of tourists to the country exceeded 100,000.
The Brazilian city Buzios, sited in the Atlantic coast, on the peninsula of Los Lagos region and 170 kilometers away from Rio de Janeiro, is going to be given the award as ‘Best Sun and Beach Destination’ during the upcoming edition of 2012 EUROAL International Tourism, Art and Culture Show. The event will be held on May 17 - 19 in Torremolinos (Costa del Sol, Spain).
