At a time when the OECS Secretariat is redirecting its work programs, with a view to bringing the OECS Economic Union into effect, OECS Tourism Ministers have focused their agenda on the strategic analysis of the single OECS tourism space.

Investing in the Caribbean region’s tourism sector will be the focus of a power breakfast this June, presented by the Caribbean Tourism Organization and Hard Beat Communications, Inc., in collaboration with the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Cancun is ready in case the Organizing Committee considers the destination as the future host of Mexico’s largest tradeshow, the Tianguis Turistico. Organizers of the tradeshow have recently decided to move its location from Acapulco. Cancun CVB chief Jesus Almaguer told organizers the best destinations to host Tianguis are Cancun and Riviera Maya.

Guyana will host the 13th annual Caribbean conference on sustainable tourism development next year. Bermuda’s director of tourism William Griffith passed the symbolic sustainable tourism scroll to the deputy director of the Guyana Tourism Authority, Tameca Sukhdeo-Singh, at the closing of STC-12 in Bermuda on April 6th.
