Douglas Elliman has announced the sale of Miami Beach’s Clinton Hotel for $28.5 million. The seller is East Coast Realty Ventures from Rockville, Maryland. The buyer, Think Hotel Group, owns several hotels in the area at 21st Street in Miami Beach and closed in an all cash deal.

The Thompson Hotel group is building a boutique hotel in Playa Del Carmen, Thompson Hotel Playa Del Carmen. This hotel will be set apart with its boutique design (125 guestrooms) and party spaces that will embrace the feel of South Beach.

The Eden Roc at Cap Cana hotel in the Dominican Republic is expanding. The project will see the addition of 52 suites around the surrounding area of the property’s Caleton Beach Club, among other changes.

Biras Creek, a 33-suite resort overlooking North Sound in Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands, has ceased operations, according to a statement on its Facebook page. The resort sent home more than 70 workers, who were notified in severance letters that the resort was closed until further notice.
