The sales director of Louis Cruises has revealed ambitious targets for the UK market, hoping to reach 15,000 passengers by 2018. Speaking to TTG at WTM, Pythagoras Nagos said the company had redefined its product offering.

The final day of World Travel Market 2014 continued this year's focus of doing deals, rewarding excellence and generating debate. WTM Speed Networking sessions started the day, with the Thursday session proving as popular as the Monday meetings which started WTM 2014.

The first two and a half days of World Travel Market 2014, the leading global event for the travel industry, experienced an impressive 7 percent increase in visitors, including buyers. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday up to 1pm on Wednesday of WTM 2014, saw percentage year-on-year increases for visitors, and overall participants, with all delegates including visitors, buyers, international media and exhibitor personal up 5 percent.

WeChat, an instant messaging service owned by Chinese Internet service provider Tencent, has emerged as a viable sales channel for travel companies. With 440 million active users in Q2 2014, WeChat is the second largest global messaging service after WhatsApp.
