The Dominican Republic has been announced as the official destination sponsor of the 2025 Miami Open, one of the world’s top tennis tournaments, attracting over 400,000 attendees. This partnership strengthens the country's presence in sports tourism, showcasing its diverse offerings beyond sun and sand to a global audience.

The Miami Open serves as a premier platform for the Dominican Republic to expand its international visibility. "This event allows us to elevate our brand and highlight the diverse experiences our country offers," stated Minister of Tourism David Collado. During the tournament, Collado led the coin toss for the quarterfinal match between Arthur Fils and Jakub Mensik, reinforcing the nation’s engagement in global tennis.

James Blake, Miami Open tournament director, praised the Dominican Republic’s commitment to world-class sporting events, citing its recent hosting of the 2025 ATP Dominican Republic Open Copa Cap Cana in Punta Cana as proof of its growing influence on the international tennis scene.

Beyond tennis, the Dominican Republic hosts top-tier sports events, including the PGA Tour’s Corales Puntacana Championship, Ironman 70.3, and Oceanman.
