Backroads Expands Women’s Adventures for 2026

Just in time for Mother’s Day, Backroads, the world leader in active travel, has unveiled an expanded lineup of Women’s Adventures for 2026, adding 18 new Walking & Hiking trips to a program that now boasts 250 departures worldwide. The new itineraries span breathtaking destinations like Bali, Colombia, Norway, Tasmania, the Pyrenees, and U.S. favorites such as Moab and Death Valley. These experiences offer a perfect mix of adventure, personal time, and bonding moments—especially appealing for mother-daughter getaways.
After a successful debut in 2024, demand for Women’s Adventures has surged, with bookings doubling in 2025 and showing no signs of slowing. In response, Backroads will offer over 60 unique Women’s Adventures in 2026, with more to be revealed in June. These trips have received exceptional guest ratings, averaging 9.7 out of 10, with many women signing up for another adventure before even finishing their first.
These thoughtfully curated trips are designed to celebrate female connection, curiosity, and empowerment. Whether it’s friends, sisters, solo travelers, or multiple generations of women traveling together, the experiences prioritize community, choice, and freedom over competition. Guest feedback emphasizes the emotional richness and camaraderie that set these trips apart.
Among the new Walking & Hiking tours for 2026 are destinations like Arizona’s Saguaro National Park, Brittany & Normandy, the Canadian Rockies, Scottish Highlands, and Southern Spain’s Andalusia. Multi-Adventure options include explorations through Costa Rica, Hawaii, Iceland, and Indonesia’s Bali, offering a blend of hiking, cultural immersion, and outdoor discovery.
“We see something powerful unfold when a group of incredible women explore the world together,” said Avery Hale Smith, Chief Experience Officer at Backroads. “It’s more than travel—it’s about transformation, empowerment, and knowing that anything is possible on a Backroads Women’s Adventure. The sky’s the limit.”
