The Global Destination Report 2024 is now open for input from destination marketing professionals and senior leaders in the business events industry, with ICC Belfast confirmed as the headline partner. Conducted by SFA Connect in collaboration with IBTM World and ICC Belfast, this study aims to offer crucial insights that will guide strategic decisions in the sector.

The survey addresses key topics such as government relations, funding, the economic value of business events, and strategies for future growth. Ross Moffett, Sales Director at ICC Belfast, emphasized the importance of the research in understanding market dynamics and ensuring destinations remain competitive, particularly in areas like environmental sustainability, which continues to grow in importance.

Iain Bell, Acting CEO of ICC Belfast, highlighted the potential of business events to drive regional economic growth in Northern Ireland, where ICC Belfast serves as the only purpose-built convention center. He noted that the report’s findings would support their ongoing collaboration with government to maximize the region's economic potential.

Claudia Hall, Exhibition Director of IBTM World, underscored the report's significance in helping destinations adapt to the evolving global business events landscape. She encouraged widespread participation, as the research will be pivotal in shaping advocacy efforts and driving innovation across the industry. The findings will be presented at the Forum for Advocacy in Barcelona on November 18.

The report is expected to reflect the sector's strong recovery over the past two years, providing a comprehensive outlook for the future. All destinations and convention bureaux are urged to participate to contribute to a robust data set that will benefit the entire industry.
