Tourism Ireland, alongside four tourism companies from the island of Ireland, recently participated in the Global Travel Marketplace (GTM) held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The three-day event, which includes personalized one-to-one appointments and networking sessions, provided an invaluable opportunity for Irish tourism businesses to connect with top travel advisors from North America.

GTM is designed to facilitate direct engagement between tourism providers and influential travel professionals who play a critical role in recommending destinations to their clients. This year’s participation by Tourism Ireland aimed to keep Ireland prominently in the minds of these advisors when suggesting travel destinations.

Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s Head of North America, highlighted the significance of the event: “Our presence at this year’s GTM in Florida was another excellent platform to inspire influential North American travel professionals about the island of Ireland and the many great things to see and do. Events like this provide a valuable opportunity for Tourism Ireland and our partners to connect and network with travel professionals who have the potential to bring valuable tourists to the island, helping to secure a greater share of their business for Ireland in 2024 and beyond.”

By engaging directly with these top-producing travel advisors, Tourism Ireland aims to attract more North American tourists, ensuring continued growth and visibility for Ireland as a prime travel destination.
