AerCap, TAAG Angola Airlines Sign Leaseback Deal for Boeing 787-9
AerCap Holdings N.V. has signed a sale and leaseback agreement with TAAG Angola Airlines for a new Boeing 787-9 aircraft, set for delivery in February 2025. This marks the introduction of the fuel-efficient widebody jet to TAAG’s fleet, supporting its modernization efforts.
"We are proud to welcome TAAG as a new customer and introduce the 787 to their operations," said Aengus Kelly, CEO of AerCap. "This aircraft will allow TAAG to expand its network across Africa, Europe, and Asia while meeting sustainability goals."
TAAG’s CEO, Nelson de Oliveira, highlighted the deal as pivotal to enhancing fleet efficiency and sustainability. The addition of the 787-9 aligns with the airline's strategy to connect Angola to key global destinations while ensuring passenger comfort and reducing operational costs.
