Air Canada, Canada's largest airline and a Skytrax Four-Star carrier, has announced its future move to the new Terminal 6 (T6) at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in 2026. This relocation aligns the airline with Star Alliance partners Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, and ANA, creating a hub of premium, interconnected travel experiences.

Terminal 6, part of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey's $19 billion transformation of JFK into a world-class gateway, promises a state-of-the-art travel experience. Spanning over 1.2 million square feet, T6 will feature a digital-first, boutique guest experience with NYC-inspired shopping, dining, lounges, and curated public art. Travelers will benefit from a streamlined layout, offering an average walking time of less than five minutes from TSA security to all gates.

Air Canada currently operates three daily flights from JFK Terminal 7—two from Toronto and one from Montreal—using its highly-rated Embraer E175 aircraft. These flights are pre-cleared for U.S. customs and complement the airline’s extensive operations at New York’s LaGuardia and Newark airports, which collectively offer 36 daily flights between Canada and the New York metropolitan area.

Mark Galardo, Air Canada’s Executive Vice President of Revenue and Network Planning, emphasized the significance of the move:"New York is a top destination for business, leisure, and family travel for Canadians. By moving to T6, we will enhance the airport experience for our customers while offering seamless connections to Canada and our international network via our hubs in Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver."

As a founding member of Star Alliance, Air Canada will further bolster its network connectivity at JFK, enhancing travel options for passengers. The airline’s relocation to T6 solidifies its commitment to providing a premium and efficient travel experience, setting a new benchmark for North American aviation.

With its modernized facilities and innovative design, Terminal 6 is poised to become a key player in JFK's transformation into a global aviation leader.
