Iberia Plus Becomes Club Iberia Plus with New Earning Structure

Iberia Plus is evolving into Club Iberia Plus, introducing key changes to its rewards system starting April 1, 2025. The biggest shift is that Elite Points—needed for tier upgrades—will now be earned per euro spent, rather than by distance traveled. Customers will also accumulate points when purchasing additional services like seat selection and priority boarding, as well as through spending with partner brands.
"We believe this is a fairer and more transparent way to reward our most loyal customers," said Beatriz Guillén, Iberia’s Director of Global Sales and Loyalty. The airline is also reducing the number of flights required to reach Silver and Gold status and adding a new way to qualify for Platinum status based on flights taken.
The way customers earn Avios, the program’s reward currency, will remain unchanged, continuing to be calculated per euro spent on flights and services with over 100 program partners.
A major addition is the launch of Platinum Prime, a new top-tier status offering enhanced perks such as more Avios, free cabin upgrades, and exclusive redemption campaigns. Unlike regular Platinum, which can be earned through spending or flight count, Platinum Prime will be awarded solely based on euros spent.
Both Platinum and Platinum Prime will hold oneworld Emerald status, ensuring premium benefits across the alliance’s network.
